Christmas party games
A game for the whole table: everyone watches a short clip, one of you watched a different one. Find the impostor.
Play freeOpen reelies.fun on every phone. Nothing to download. Why it works at Christmas
- Everyone already has a phone in their hand. This gives them a reason to use it together.
- Nothing to set up. No board, no cards, no app store. Scan a QR code and you're in.
- Anyone can play. If you can watch a 20-second video, you can play. Teens and grandparents end up on equal footing.
- Short rounds. Play one round between courses or ten after dinner.
How to play in one minute
- One person opens reelies.fun and creates a lobby.
- Everyone joins with the QR code or room code.
- Everyone watches their clip. One player, the impostor, got a different one.
- Talk it over, vote, and see if you caught them.

Tips for a family game
- Pick the animals, cooking or fails categories for mixed ages.
- Set a longer talk time so slower talkers get a say.
- Play with the sound on. Half the clues are in the audio.
- Family far away? Put everyone on a video call and share the lobby link.
Make it festive
- Loser picks the next film. Lowest score after the last round loses the remote war.
- Impostor wears the paper crown. Whoever gets away as the impostor keeps the cracker hat until someone else does.
- Grown-ups vs kids. Keep a tally on paper of which side caught more impostors across the evening.
- Best bluff award. At the end, vote for the impostor performance of the night.
A typical Christmas round
Everyone at the table watches a 20-second cooking clip: someone icing a cake. Your aunt, the impostor, watched a different clip: someone glazing a ham. She hears “the icing was so neat” and says “yes, very shiny, very satisfying”. Your cousin asks what colour it was. She hesitates. The table votes, both clips appear, and the arguing starts.
Questions
Is it suitable for kids?
The clips are everyday real-life videos like animals, cooking and sports. Younger kids can team up with a grown-up on one phone.
Does it cost anything?
No. It's free in the browser, with no download and no account.
What if someone's phone is old?
Any phone with a recent browser that can play YouTube videos will work.
Other moments it fits
Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, the office party, a Secret Santa night or New Year's Eve before midnight. It works for 4 to 8 players per lobby; bigger groups can run two lobbies.
