Privacy policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

Short versionNo accounts, no ads, no tracking. We keep the minimum needed to run a game, and delete it soon after.

Who we are

Reelies is a party game at reelies.fun, run from London, UK. For anything about your data, email reeliesstaff@gmail.com.

What we store

WhatWhyHow long
The name and avatar you pickSo other players in your room can see who is whoUntil your game room is deleted
A random player IDCreated automatically when you open the game, so the game knows which phone is which. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number.Your browser forgets it when you close the tab. Firebase keeps the bare ID on its sign-in list, with no name or other details attached.
Game data: room code, settings, rounds, votes, scores, and when you were last activeTo run the game and keep everyone's screen in syncUntil the room is deleted
Game counts: games started and finished, number of players, rounds playedTo see whether people enjoy the game. These are totals per day with no names or IDs attached.Kept as totals
Your chosen name, saved in your browserSo you don't have to type it again next time. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere except into a room you join.Until you clear your browser data

We don't ask for your email, phone number or real name, and we don't use cookies for advertising or tracking.

When rooms are deleted

A room is deleted when its last player leaves. Rooms that were never closed are deleted within 14 days.

Videos

The clips come from YouTube and play in YouTube's embedded player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you play a clip, YouTube (Google) receives information such as your IP address and may store cookies under its own rules. See Google's privacy policy and YouTube's terms.

Who handles the data

We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Why we're allowed to use it

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), we use this data because it's needed to give you the game you asked to play, and because counting games helps us improve it (our legitimate interest), in a way that doesn't identify you.

Age

Reelies is for players aged 13 and over, the same as YouTube. If you think a child under 13 has used it, email us and we'll delete their data.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Email reeliesstaff@gmail.com. Because we don't know who you are, tell us your room code and player name so we can find your data. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change how we use data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
